Monica and Josh got married on a beautiful fall day at the Cypress Point Country Club. Monica works in the event industry so much of her decorations and piecing everything together was all done by her. Monica told me that she wanted a fall wedding but not over the top. She also loved blue and silver, so what’s a bride to do? Do it all! You will see that her jewelry was blue and silver to match one ring that she never takes off of her hand. The rest of her decor has the warm fall colors throughout their wedding day.
Their love story all started with Josh walking through the door, but it took an entire year later when they were best friends to start dating. Josh told Monica that he wanted them to be able to say, ‘we’re in love with our best friend.”
Honestly, I could quote Monica in everything she wrote to me about her and Josh and their relationship, it was written that well! From sparking determination in each other to accomplishing goals of graduating, being each other’s cheerleader and always each other’s best friend, these two were made for each other.
Their wedding day was filled with out of town family and the most heartwarming reunions. Monica’s Dad and Step Dad both walked her down the aisle, had emotional “first looks” with her and dances. I could picture all of their thoughts of her being a little girl and now standing in front of them in her wedding dress. I cried behind my camera a lot, not only at their emotion but their relationship that they all have. Monica’s Step Dad told me about the phone conversations they use to have together… where one Dad would call the other to discuss Monica’s teenage years! 😉 Her Mom spoke highly of her Dad in front of all of their guests at their reception and exchanged mutual happy tears together. It was beautiful to watch and to photograph.
Lastly, their wedding day perfectly represented two families coming together. From examples above and also the details that Josh’s Mom did as well. She took beads from Monica’s mother’s wedding dress and sewed them onto Monica’s veil. She helped Monica put her veil on and get ready to walk down the aisle, for Monica to marry her son. Their day was full of love and happiness. Congratulations to Monica and Josh!
